Re: E Bay Postage Question
In Response To: Re: E Bay Postage Question ()

I give it very little thought when bidding. I don't feel it's a true representation of the buyer / seller. I've received three bad checks, had two people decide they didn't want the item purchased and have purchased two items that were grossly misrepresented in the past month. Did I write negatives on any of them... no, I'm too kindhearted. Should others know of a deadbeat bidder, a risky buyer and be aware of sealers who exaggerate their items? Yes... but they all had decent feedback so I wouldn't have known they were bad risks if I were a prudent buyer or a cautious seller. Do you think I'm the only one that's received bad checks, poorly described items and have had buyers back out... I doubt it. I'm very polite when I ask someone to resolve an issue... most are nice, some are rude and others are down-right nasty. I file my final credit claim and then relist the item. I beleive this is what most do to protect their "own" feedback.

I've also seen one individual who purchased an item from me and wrote a bad check... her account was closed. I noticed a trend of another buyer and took a chance and sent them an e-mail... lo-and-behold, it was the lady that wrote me a bad check. Her account is still open and she still owes me the $72 (which she has promised over-and-over). eBay won't help, her previous account is closed and this is "not-related" to her new account. They have a $200 deductible, so no chance to recover my losses there. I've noticed she's closed her most recent account... what do you think the odds are she'll reopen a new account? Do you think her feedback is useful?

I've also seen a LOT of users open multiple accounts (4+). Some of their IDs have 0 negative comments, while others have numerous neutral and some negative comments. Why is this? Most state that they sell different categories under each ID. When you review what they buy / sell... this is rarely the case. Do you think thier feedback is useful?

We've all read the latest lawsuit filed against eBay... how much impact do you think that'll have on users leaving negative comments? Do you really think that eBay's feedback system is "ours"? I don't!

As a side note... your feedback is outstanding.
