I don't collect HR chips so it doesn't much matter to me, but this whole High Roller thing makes little sense to me.

Mandalay puts out a series of Chinese New Year Chips to Asian High Rollers, do you hear collectors complaining? NO and the reason is that the promotion makes sense to us.

What doesn't make any sense to me in the HR chip release is that Sammay Hagar doesn't seem to us to be any special event that warrants a High Roller chip. In addition the fact that they produced a $5 chip for general distribution at the same time excerbates the situation.

If the Hard Rock did a High Roller promotional chip for say an anniversary or something and distributed them only to high rollers and did not announce a simultaneous release of a version for us commoners, then I suspect there would be a lot less complaints (yes there would still be some complaints, but less).

But as it stands know it LOOKS like it was just an effort to manipulate the secondary market. And Warwick has always admitted a concern about secondary market values.
