Could Hard Rock have made 1000 chips and sold out, you bet your booties, and that would have made Hard Rock $18,750.00 more interest free money for Hard Rock, so why not

Now, I’m not playing devil’s advocate here. I collect only $5 Hard Rocks and if this happened to a fiver, I’d be out of my mind like the $25 collectors. But please, let’s put things in perspective… these chips were made for the HIGH ROLLERS. Do you really think that the Hard Rock is all that concerned with either us collectors or $18,750??? The Rock will do anything possible to keep the high rollers feeling good and coming back, and that’s the bottom line. They’re interested in the high rollers returning and not playing elsewhere. The little perks, such as the exclusive Sammy chips, are what accomplish this. Over the course of a year, the bunch of us collectors and the entire chip program don’t add up to ten minutes of play from one of their regular whales.

I wish that people would stop quoting how much a given casino will make from an increased LE release… it couldn’t be more inconsequential. The answer is to either stop collecting the $25’s (if you’re like me and collect only completable LE programs), or be satisfied collecting what you can of the $25’s (like you do with “regular” chips).

Just my opinion, of course.
