I have read the whole strand of messages and I have to finally speak up.
Chips are not taken at face value, but what they represent.

$60 dollars is not the issue, but that they were all invited out for a gala dinner with Sammy, FNB and treated to a kick butt concert.

The chip represents a token from the hard rock, they could never have gotten from anyone else. The palms was built, with the idea of capturing a bit of the market place that the hard rock has so dominated over the last 7 years. With the slice of pie getting smaller and smaller, the hard rock has to do what it can to make this handful of people feel special. It's not about the $60 dollars, but being treated to something that only the hard rock could do, the whole package. Invite, dinner, concert and chips. That’s why the hard rock stands alone in this special market place.

I know for a fact that the hard rock cares about the collectors in this town and around the world who collect their memorabilia. The hard rock store, sells over 1 million dollars in merchandise a month. Chips are now becoming another big thing, along with the ever so beautiful pins they produce.

This just happened to be one thing, where the customers took precedent over everyone else. I am sure they could have used better judgment, but you have to understand the whole picture, not just what is in front of you. The hard rock has not had a general manager for over 8 months. Which means we have been running on autopilot.

When don maridino was hired, he put so many things into effect, including this whole Sammy thing. He started to move very fast to let everyone know he was right for this job. I think he has done a great job since being there and if the worst thing he did with warrick, was under estimate how this chip would affect everyone, then I think he would have reconsidered doing what they did.
