I think a lot of you know that I've sold my collection and no longer expect to be active in the hobby. I think this is my 33rd year with the CCA (nee CCGTCC.) I have a lot of fondness for our Club and also for a sizable bunch of its members. Based on recent discussions I wanted to make two points:
1) I worry about the future of our Club. The reasons to be a member have continuously eroded primarily due to technology. I don't have any solutions. But the single irreplaceable asset of our Club is the ChipGuide. I'm not a lawyer but the idea that someone could copy the single irreplaceable asset of our Club under the guise of "fair use" seems to me unbelievable.
2) I contributed many images of old Las Vegas chips from my collection to the ChipGuide. It's a personal source of pride. It establishes my collection as an important collection and enshrines my name with early Las Vegas chips. I'm not happy that other sites would use my images without attribution thus erasing my legacy contribution.
