John- "Casino Chalet" Royat

The construction of the casino ( owned by Municipal Council) took place between 1873 and 1874. It is the work of architect Jacques Cournol. The casino was then called the “Chalet”. This building with neo-Norman architecture made of red bricks and wood included several gambling rooms and various reception rooms on the first floor, a restaurant on the ground floor and a performance hall created in 1875 called "the Cercle".
In 1882, the architect Lecat built a second casino, the Casino Samie, with a Cercle with gambling.
Casino Samie went bankrupt on 1890. ( to be object of a later post).
The Casino de Royat ( Casino Municipal also called Casino Chalet), was destroyed by fire on April 5, 1919, and was rebuilt by the municipality. The new buildings were inaugurated on June 25, 1921.
The architect Guillaume Tronchet replaced the old casino with a new one between 1919 and 1921(current casino).
In 1992, the concession of Casino Municipal Royat was granted to the Partouche group.
NOTE: I think the jetons from the Casino ( named as “ Casino Chalet” ) should have the monogram CR ( Cercle or Casino de Royat) and not CC (see the recordings on the doors of the casino). I even think that there should be no more jetons ,as the casino was destroyed by fire.
