None of us really 'own' our chips. We are mere custodians until the next possessor comes along. Our collections will one day be dispersed ... either voluntarily through sales after we tire of the hobby ... or by death, when our heirs decide what becomes of the collection. Either way, that repaired chip is going to have a new custodian ... and he/she will want to know that he was not cheated with his purchase.
