Ross, what type of chip is it
In Response To: How To Glue On A Inlay? ()

Has the inlay curled, dished or simply popped off after an attempted cleaning -- or did you simply find the inlay detatched from the chip in its holder/flip?

In some of our auction descriptions thru the years, it was noted that a white glue such as Elmer's carpenter glue was used...

Though I have never attempted to repace a popped inlay with its original chip, I have exhibited examples (Crest & Seal chips)... and I have offered both a chip and its original popped inlay in the same flip... Kind of like a teacup and its chipped piece being exhibited/offered side-by-side in place of an unsightly repair jop; like something seen on Antique RoadShow...

I'm still curious as to the type manufacture... as some of us just might have a question or two as to what the recess looks like.
