You are not taking the persons

financial position into account. Someone may be in financial position that warrants a cheap sale and most of the collectors may already have the items they are selling but may jump on it if it is a bargain. I have picked up items much cheaper than the pricing lists but chalk it up to the economy as everything is a bit tougher now. If someone really needs the cash flow, tries to sell at reasonable price but doesn't get any takers, they almost have to drop the price to sell the item. If they aren't in a financail bind or getting out of the hobby, then I agree with some of your statements.
