I'm not so sure that it is a specific sales tactic that you could paint such a broad brush in describing.

I agree that setting an initial price, selling 1 or 2 then lowering the price shortly there after sends the wrong message and would hinder that persons sales in the future.

I don't think that there is anything wrong in posting a chip for sale at a price that the seller thinks is fair and then lowering it if there is no takers.

Sometimes people just want to unload. The fastest way to do that is get to the price that someone is willing to pay.

Many people on this board have made it very clear that they will not even consider a chip if the seller says "Make offer" Why? I don't know. What's the worst that could happen? They tell you NO? So what.

Water seeks its level and so do values.
