Remember this is a 'club' election, where candidates must be 'in good standing'. By definition that means a process has to exist to verify the candidates suitability in advance of any ballots.

If you go back to the times the nominations were called for you will see its clear that NO NOMINATIONS RECEIVED AFTER XZY DATE will be accepted.

Ballot write-in's only apply when there is no criteria applicable to a candidates valid standing.
