I have not run across a deal like that with a chip, any good deals I have gotten were for my benefit as a friend from other collectors who knew the value.

I have gotten bank notes as gifts from many of you and they were assumed to be of little actual value. I remember getting 2 such notes not too long ago, one had little value and I accepted it as a gift and the other had a book value of $20 and I knew the sender did not have any idea it was worth that. I sent him the full book value, I could have gotten it slightly below book from another collector but the sender showed his generousity by sending it and I showed him mine by giving him full value. We both came out good. I have done this many times for people who are not knowledgable. I have also gotten good deals from some that do not care what the value is but want it to some one who appreciates it. I have a Canadian note worth $145 from a situation just like that, I paid face value for it and told the seller the value. She refused the additional money, she had gotten it from a bank at face so she broke even. Getting a good deal and taking advantage of some one are two different things. . . . IMHO
