all,
Appreciate your thoughts on this. We've had many responses and letters to the Web site and we're very happy to get your advice. A lot of people are concerned that reproduction chips will be sold as actual collectables. We understand that concern, since we're collectors too. The last thing we want to do is to mess up a very cool hobby.
So here are some thoughts, and we'd appreciate your thougths on this.
1. Whatever designs we produce, always include a (c)2004 hgp.com copyright mark. with a 2004 copyright, nobody could confuse them with an actual vintage chip. (it's kind of like making a fiberglass 1957 T-Bird with a custom frame and turbo engine... it could never be mistaken for a real Bird, but it looks cool and is fun to drive)
2. Use the copyright AND create new designs that pay tribute to some of the great vintage designs, but do not try to duplicate them.
3. Colors on edge spots would be new and brighter than colors of the past.
4. Embossed edge designs would be all new and not compete or match any vintage chips.
How's everyone feel about those ideas?
And thanks for your input and thoughts. Glad to see that everyone is keeping an eye out for the hobby. If anyone has more suggestions, please go to www.homegamepoker.com and let us know. We want to hear from you.
