They seemed pretty new and I didn't actually get a chance to use one but I believe it was at the Orleans. To the casinos credit they have a machine that you can put in the tickets and it will dispense cash or it will, as you say, consolidate all the balances. Of course, in retrospect, I could have taken my handfull of tickets, inserted them all into any machine then cashed out and I would have been given a new ticket for about a buck and a quarter.

Again though, I think the technology is nice and has it's uses. The machines I played even had a virtual coin drop sound effect that was pretty convincing. If you want you can click cash out and the machine will clank and click as the credits tick down one by one. Ringing and Chink Chink Chink Click Clack Tic Tic Tic.....
