I know many adults who wouldn't file criminal charges or sue the employer over a minor physical altercation.

I represented a High School Student charged with an offense resulting from a fight which was nothing more than two students pushing each other with no injuries.

I think one of the most importnat lessons we can teach kids today is that the world is not a perfect place. Sometimes people are going to call you names. Sometimes things are goping to happen that aren't nice. They need to learn to cope. They need to learn to distinguish the difference between name calling and battery.

Society today seems to value the feeling of victimization so much so that we reward those who when faced with an unpleasant situation sit and cry about how terricle they have been treated, while ignoring those who actually make an effort to overcome the problem.
