I just recently won an auction for six "MINT" chips and found two of the chips to be severely table worn. In fact, one had a huge nick out of the edge (see photo below). Initially I felt that I was sold an auction where the item was grossly mis-represented and also felt that I was lied to when I opened the package.

This seller has a spotless feedback history and has been very prompt in replying to me once I alerted her of the problem. Her explanation was that she is not a hardcore collector and did not realize they were not mint when the auction was posted. She claims it was an honest mistake and has agreed to accept a complete return.

Here is where I need your opinions... I have indicated that the chips are "in the mail" and would like her to go ahead and submit a refund. She says that a refund will not be issued until she receives the chips citing "basic business sense". (I guess my spotless feedback history means nothing to her). My arguement is that I trusted her to initially with up front cash before the item was mailed. I have to trust that her explanation is truthful about the mistake. And now I have to agree to her refund terms and trust her a third time in order to get a refund processed after she gets the chips back.

Am I being unreasonable here? Why shouldn't I expect my money back first in this situation? Why should I trust this person for a 3rd time? Please let me know what you guys think. I know many of you are sellers as well as buyers. I look foward to hearing what you think.
