At the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, with only 25,000 students, we didn't even "deserve" a computer. We had to use punchcards that were then sent to Madison to the Univac 1108. Took about three days to get your results! One of our Engineering lab classes had us building a "minicomputer" from transistors. They were used to make "and" and "or" gates that finally resulted in a computer that could add and subtract. Surprised the sh** out of me that it actually worked.
