Sure there are always a few that could afford health insurance but are foolish enough not to buy it. We've both heard the story of the chip collector who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on chips and didn't bother to buy health insurance.

But the maids who work in these hotels aren't in that category. They're going to have to choose between buying food for their kids and health insurance. And if they don't have health insurance then you and I will end up paying for it through our taxes since the government will end up paying when they and their kids end up in the emergency room.
