I have a little problem understanding your post. Not your problem, Mine. I am a bit dyslexic and get messed up easilly, I assume you are saying, I play the (There) a bit, and I seldom see players scrutinizing the LE's in front of them. They seem more interested in quantity than in content!

If I am understanding your statement correctly perhaps the Colorado Belle may be on the right track but a little off. I think the difference is in the balance of the chips. I have noticed, at Orleans, Aladdin, Luxor etc. that a majority of their chips are regular chips. They mix the LEs into the racks in such a way that they are unusual when they appear. If a casino is putting out all their LE chips and not any regular chips the LEs will just look like regular chips. Case in point are the Sigfried and Roy chips at Mirage. At the time, all their chips had the pictures of the magicians and their white tiger. I do not know if they are still using those chips. It never occoured to me, early on, to take one home because they didn't seem that unique. They appeared ordinary. Then as I got more into the collecting I kicked myself for not getting a couple. I ended up paying half again face to get a couple. Same was true of the Danny Gans chips at RIO. It makes a big difference when you are accostomed to the appearance of the chips and something different comes up. I noticed a few times, at the Orleans, that some people playing at the tables would notice the chip. Most would pick it up look at it and talk to eachother about it, "This is Cool". I noticed a couple put them aside but will admit, most just chuckle it off and bet it. That is what is really interesting about playing when one comes up. You end up following that darn thing from player to player to the dealer then you get p***ed when another player gets it. You just keep following till hopefully you do not run out of money and it ends up going home with you.
