Ross,

You are right you have a problem with the colors - they looked like faded. What brand of scanner are you using and the model.

I think Paul is using the HP 6300C. I like the HP 6300C myself. I use 50 percent and 75 dpi. Please note that it does not necessarily mean that the higher resolution you use the better. I got the idea from Greg Susong to scan at 75 dpi.

Take a look at the Taj Mahal Streak chip below it is so close to the real chip but there is a slight difference because of the screen resolution you have and the software you use to scan them.

The Diskscan software provided and that comes with the HP package is not the best graphic scan program, compared to Corel Draw or the OmniPage and Illustrator 9 which are used by professional graphic artist.
