It's your attitude that trying to stop something that has already started is SILLY? Did you think about that comment before typing it?

>>>>> Funny stuff , <<< i hope you don't go through life .........>>>>>
I run a well established business with an attiuted that fits me well and i do not need you to tell me different OK <<<<<

Let's not twist things, Dave... my reference was to your comment "Let it be what will happen will happen". You're not going to tell me that this fatalistic attitude has helped you build your business. I don't believe there is a successful entrepreneur who just accepts life moving around him without any initiative.

My point here is that if we (ie: the Club) sit around and WATCH it happen, then it most assuredly WILL happen... just like it did in the coin INDUSTRY. Do we want a chip INDUSTRY?

>>>>> Reply to that one time .. i hope you do not go through life trying to protest something that has already happened and dewell on it because in my mind if the company that wants to slab chips will do it and keep doing it .. <<<<<

My guess is that if nobody buys slabbed chips that dealers will probably not give the slabbing services much business. I think you're missing the issue, Dave. It's not only the slabbing companies that are the "bad guys" here... they are merely pushing a service which many chip collectors find unnecessary and feel will be detrimental to our HOBBY. If the demand for slabbed chips does not exist, you should assume that the slabbing companies will not slab chips. Isn't that a primary principle of any business? It has nothing to do with whether the company WANTS to slab chips or not.

Incidently, THAT is what the list is about... not creating the demand for slabbing.

>>>>> Come on selfish ? do you collect every kind of chip ? <<<<<

You stated "...I feel if you slabbed old ones that i do not collect that is ok." Let me ask you a fundemental but related question: Assuming that you are a white person, do you feel that discrimination against black people is okay because you are not black? Is this analogy not entirely germane?

Since you asked, I do not collect every kind of chip. I collect only house chips and 2 specific kinds of LE's. Is it okay with me if they start slabbing roulette chips? Absolutely not! Even if I now feel there that I will not become interested in roulettes, I DO feel that slabbing them is bad for the hobby of chip COLLECTING in general. When chips of any kind become investment resources, we collectors will be facing a very different environment that couldn't possibly be a better world than we have now.

Peace.
