an ethics question

I have a "hypothetical" question for you old-timers (chipping, not age-wise). Say I have a web-site, not unlike Greg's, but DEFINITELY NOT Greg's, and I see a scan of a chip that one of you has posted on the chipboard to inquire about. I don't have that chip on my site, so I just "borrow" that chip scan to use on my site. My site is copyrighted, would it be "ethically" right of me to do this without even asking for your permission or mentioning to you that I was going to do this? This is a question that has been gnawing at me (in places you don't even want to know about) for over a week now. I would appreciate any advice you can give me on this. I mean, I (no longer hypothetical) have a page that utilizes quite a few scans of pics that Greg has on his site, I simply asked him beforehand and he said as long as I actually copied the files rather than just link to them and eat up his bandwidth, he had no problem with it. I was just wanting to know if this is even worth bringing up to the individual that did this without asking.

Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to have a chip (or three) that I personally own to be used as examples, I would just like to know that they're being used and not just stumble across them one day while looking through some stuff and realize that this has happened.

Thanks a bunch,
--Thom
