Interesting story, John, but ...

... the Sherman and Clayton anti-trust acts apply only to individuals, corporations, etc., engaged in commerce. They do not apply to private individuals buying items for personal use. Therefore, the anti-trust laws could not apply to chip collectors bidding on eBay (though it is conceivable that they might apply to chip DEALERS who "conspire" to restrain trade by bid-rigging). The law applied to these real estate deals only because the individuals involved were doing this as a business.

I agree with Travis in his view that there are constitutional problems with applying this standard to private individuals acting out of private, non-commercial interest. ----- jim o\-S
