Jim: I salute you for the actions you have taken to notify bidders, and question sellers, of imitation or fantasy chips on E Bay.
Don't be dismayed that you have not received replies from bidders that you have so notified. I've notified bidders in the past about imitation Dunes chips, and DID receive a very nice thank you reply from them.
Helping neophyte collectors should be something that we do not hesitate to do, as in the long run, it will more likely make a long time chip collector out of them than if we say nothing, and then they find out the hard way that they bought an imitation thinking it was a real casino chip.
Besides the James Bond and Dunes chips, I now see item 16538555 on EBay, a $5.00 fifth anniversary chip from the Tribal Casino in North Carolina. This chip was the topic of much discussion on Prodigy several months ago. North Carolina regulations only allow slot machines. This chip was not at all playable as a gaming chip. It was issued just a few days before that casino closed its doors in 1997, nothing more than a fantasy souvenir. But, once again, the EBay seller does not explain it that way. Yes, it did cost $5. to obtain the chip, and current bidder shows at $ 9.89, so it is not as severe as with the Casino de Isthmus chips, but it is still another instance of a chip not being properly identified.
At any rate, keep up the good work, and let us know of any further developments with your correspondence with that seller who blasted you in his reply.
