I also have had no response from any of the bidders I have contacted (makes you wonder whether it's really worth the headache).

I couldn't agree more (when I first wrote, it wasn't that high, though the high bidder at that time at least hasn't bumped it up again).

Unfortunately, if we don't self-police the hobby, either no one will or some government agency will want to poke its nose in (last thing we need is "real" chip police!!!). Our hobby is still small enough that we more experienced collectors can do something to help newcomers. The time will come, I think, when that will no longer be practical. But, as long as we can, I think we should.
