You are probably right. It would be nice to find a Borland newsletter/catalog where he offers that option, in order to confirm it.

I was doing research at the UNLV Special Collections, and they had a few Borland newsletter/catalogs, from 1983 and early 1984, but not later. I took some snapshots. Below is the cover of his 1983 World Wide Casino Exchange Newsletter, and below that is his sales page for custom chips. The custom chip sales pages are identical in all the UNLV early issues. He is not yet offering chips on the Weave/Roman mold.

I believe (via David Spragg's 2005 club magazine article) that Borland acquired ownership of the Nevada and DieCard molds in 1991. Around then he mostly stopped using the Weave/Roman mold, in favor of his own molds. The Weave/Roman mold was an open mold. It seems that most of those Weave mold chips would have been produced during the relatively small time window (post-1984 to 1991). Borland died, I believe, in 1994.

If anyone has a later Borland newsletter with the Roman/Weave mold chips, or his Nevada/DieCard mold chips, I would be interested in hearing about it.
