Re: Word of warning on your chip mailing tips

I've had several long conversations with my postmaster and didn't get anywhere. As far as this office is concerned, if it's anything other than paper they want it mailed as a package. Somehow I've been able to ship about 1-4 slot cards in a standard 6x9 envelope with regular postage and no issues. However, the envelope MUST NOT have a clasp or that is considered a package too. They automatically mail any bubble packs or cardboard mailers at package rates with no exceptions.

My biggest problem is where someone mails me something and their post office accepts it the way they mailed it then my post office disagrees and charges me postage due. This is now happening all the time and getting frustrating.

If I happen to travel about 10 miles from my house the post office there is more lenient and will accept almost anything as regular mail, even thin bubble packs that are less than 1/4" thick. But try that where I live and it won't work. Both post offices are in the same county under the same distribution center, yet they follow different rules.

If you try to complain about anything the complaint goes immediately to the post master of your local post office so if you're complaining about something they're doing it just gets ignored.
