My point is that with the different center inlays or the different hot stamps on each side of the chips you are showing, are applied randomly ... with no consideration of "right side up or upside down" blanks with SxS edge inserts. There are probably roughly equal numbers manufactured of both common variations you show. When I had my A.C. new issue service, many of my subscribers wanted both variations of SxS edge insert chips (Trump Plaza comes to mind) ... which I welcomed, because it almost doubled my sales for basically the same chip .... which I tried to explain in my newsletters to my customers.
