Have you read the MIT book?
IMO it is full of half truths and quite a bit of fantasy.
Some of the things they claim could not have been done in an AC or LV casino.

I think I know the Hi Lo system as good as most.
If anyone could be a consistant winner with it, then we would have to close the tables. grin
I would challenge anyone that claims to beat BJ on a yearly basis with it, to show me their daily won/loss records. grin Too many house tricks in place to stop the streaks, such as not allowing more than a couple unit varing in bets, not allowing people to start in the middle of a shuffle, etc.
At best you can hold the house edge to such low win percentage they get nervous about the effect on their projected monthly holds. grin

In my opinion most of the myths about counters beating casinos was created by the casinos to get people to learn how to count. grin
