Re: casino closing
In Response To: casino closing ()

Brian;

It is sad that these classic casinos are int he position they are in, although partly their fault. I am not surprised that the land Circus Circus sits on is being eyed. Once this cash cow financed the building of Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and the Excalibur. And then like spoiled children this old lady was looked down on by her high brow siblings.

Westward Ho I won't miss, but Slots of Fun was one of the funnest places to go and just mess around without having to blow a bankroll.

I suspect the Riviera and the Stardust are secure for now (could be replaced with new casinos), but the New Frontier is owned by a very wealth man who wants to build his own mega casino-the land attached is supposed to be significant, and it would be attached to the Trump Tower.

Many many of the recently proposed hi-rise condos have already cancelled their plans. Only so many millionaires to go around.

IN the end, smart people will realize that the players who want tables with less than $25 limits, good food cheap, and decent service still play in Vegas, and they will look for casinos to play in.

There is my 2 cents worth
