You can't blame the authors for wanting to protect their intellectual property. They spend a lot of time and effort to compile all the data that they publish. With a relatively small market for their product they can't be making a great deal of money for their efforts. They obviously must do it for the love of the hobby.

The big problem with publishing on line is that it is virtually impossible to protect the property from pirating. As fast as a method of protection appears, a method of overcoming it also appears. The authors have explained their positions on this board, and if you go to the archives you may be able to find the posts. My personal opinion is that chipping is a hobby for me, and I guess the wait for the next volume of a price guide to be issued. grin
