As a co-manager of lasik surg. I must admit that I am not aware of any record of anyone losing an eye or going blind to this procedure.

Lasik is many, many times safer than cataract
surg which is the most preformed procedure in the world.

No surgical procedure is without risks form complications, and yes you could go blind from lasik, but no one ever has, ( at least there is no documented case of such a mishap).

I am 20/300 and have no intention of having laisk or RK or PRK, or wave front or any other procedure done to my eyes for one simple reason... I have no reason to. It is totally elective. You must have a burning desire for such a decison. Glasses , contacts, refractive surg, all will give you good vision.

Nice to have choices. Again as was mentioned above..research before you move forward, don't consider price, do consider the reputation of the Dr. and the facility doing the work. Get a lifetime guarantee on the results.

I strongly reccomend TLC Laser Centers. You can find them on the Web. They are located in every state.

Speak to the people who have already had lasik.
It is nothing like PRK or RK. Get all the facts and teen make an informed decision.
