My sister (82 years old) just had her second eye operation this past week (the first eye about a month ago.) She is happy as a lark with the results.
Personally, I would never go through any voluntary surgury, including the laser eye, unless it was mandatory. I've worn glasses for the past 60 years and figure or hope to wear them for another 60 years.
To each his own. I heard that the success rate is 95%. The other 5% might not quite have 20/20. My mother had one operation done 20 years ago and didn't work out well--but they have improved since.
