...but as you know, it wasn't added to most of our money until the 1900's (don't recall the exact dates at the moment and don't have time to research them at the moment).

Furthermore, the 1956 date is correct for the formal adoption of the motto.

And, in any event, the motto is simply a reference to religious belief. It is not an expression of Christian beliefs and doesn't begin to show that the U.S. was "founded" on Christian beliefs.
