Suppose you had a Chippendale chair left to you by your dear old Grandma. You had it insured for replacement value, and it was stolen. Your insurance company gave you a check for $3000 (I have no clue what chippendale chairs go for...), THEN you found one at a garage sale for $2. Would you keep the leftover $2998????
