For those of you interested in Vintage Las Vegas finds, I just contacted Dr Allan Myers (The Chip Rack) to inform him of a previously unknown chip I recently purchased from the Las Vegas Club.

DESCRIPTION: $5, Brown w/ 3-1/4" beige inserts, DOTS mold (drilled). I purchased this a key chain - with chain! The hot stamp logo is the same as the one seen on the X and T mold chips from the club.

The chip is being recorded as pre-WWII (1930s). We know that the DOTS mold dates back to 1930, and we know that the Las Vegas Club opened at 18 Fremont St. on April 1, 1931 -- just one week after Nevada legalized casino gambling. We also now know that edge inserts on casino chips trace further back than previously recorded. If anyone has any further information to share, please feel free to do so.
