I understand that the ChipGuide is the main reason you choose to pay for a CCA membership. That is completely fair, and everyone has their own reasons for joining.
What I was trying to say is that someone should still be considered part of the chip collecting community even if they do not pay for a CCA membership. I make videos and work on projects that help promote the hobby, just like many other people do. I can still participate in forums, groups, discussions, and other hobby activities without paying yearly dues.
To me, being a paid member of the CCA and being part of the collecting community are two different things. I just do not think access to ChipGuide should determine whether someone is considered part of the community.
