Maybe there are people here who don't know and I hate to be repeating things that are old and stale. (but it seems I do that too often?) There are new members and I don't always get to the BB on a regular basis during the Summer.

I was the External for Prodigy, who was in charge of the Antiques and Collectibles BBs. I was the moderator, librarian and they paid me to do that. At the same time, for a number of very good reasons, Greg saw that there needed to be a public BB for everyone. Prodigy was a pay service, only members could come and read and post. Same as AOL back then. There were often criticisms of "those Prodigy people" and how they aren't the club. Gotta laugh how some things don't change?

The reason there was a BB on Prodigy was, there was interest and some of the charter members of the CC>CC decided they would meet there. Everyone else was welcome as well.

The BB is not the club, we're individuals with a common interest. This just happens to be one of the places where we get together. There are others, like FB and the newest forum. Instead of seeing this as a battle of some sort, we should all be together and appreciate that we have choices. Yes the set collectors are collectors like the rest of us, they just do less variety and many more chips! grin

I helped Greg by re-writing and adding some of the code on this BB. I can see that in the recent updates, someone has removed some, or all of that. But the fact that I worked for Prodigy, didn't stop me from helping a free and public BB for chip collectors get started. Prodigy was dialup and before the Internet. Greg started this, when the Internet was young and dialup was old and obsolete. Look who's still around?

My email address is still the same as it was when all of this started. @Prodigy.Net (except it was Prodigy.Com until about 1999)

My main point is, we all have similar interests and enjoy some related areas of casino collectibles. Lets try to stay together and support the hobby as a whole.
