Re: What do you see when you click on the

Not Secure symbol to the left of the address bar? I get this

Maybe its just my computer. Yikes!

Nope I don't see that. What browser, what level of security do you have set. I'm on Firefox and I don't see anything. Usually I get alerts if the site certificate has expired.

Ah, you're using Edge?

This site does not have a certificate.

Because this connection is not secure, information (such as passwords or credit cards) will not be securely sent to this site and may be intercepted or seen by others.

That is saying the site is HTTP and not HTTPS = the S is for secure. Really easy answer is Encryption:

Because HTTP was originally designed as a clear text protocol, it is vulnerable to eavesdropping

Personally it doesn't mean anything is wrong with TheChipBoard.Com grin ftp transfers have the same problems, and now everything had to change, because someone eavesdropping could scrape for passwords. So ports changed, SFTP was enabled, whole systems had to be re-coded. Then the software had to have new verification SSL and it's going beyond me.

Mostly the Internet is growing and adjusting because of bad actors who will try to manipulate and steal personal data.

What to hear about IPv4 which is switching to IPv6? LOL vbg
