I want to state my support for David's candidacy. A lot of members may not know but David has been a huge part of keeping this Club solvent. For many years including this year the biggest fundraiser for the Club is the auction at the Convention. For years members consigned chips to the auction and every one attended because the auction was the place to find the rare chips. With the growth of eBay and other venues the consignments to the auction dropped substantially and the income to the Club dropped as well.

David saw this happening and he decided the best way to keep the auction as a major source of income was to solicit members, especially the bigger collectors to donate chips to the auction. so instead of the Club getting 10% (?) of the sale, the club earned 100% of the sale. Today most of the chips in the auction are donated chips which the Club collects 100% on. We have some collectors who have donated many valuable chips to the auction. Without this effort by David and the donors there is a real possibility the auction could not have continued, and this is no exaggeration.

This is just one of the many things David has been involved with behind the scenes that many members may not be aware of. David knows the workings of the Club and has devoted a huge amount of his time to helping this hobby and is certainly qualified to lead the Club forward. I worked closely with David when I was President and I know he is right for the job.
