Joel, you make a VERY GOOD POINT

Other than posting raffle updates on the chipboard, I haven’t read the board in months as I like many others are tired of the constant controversy.

But I feel I need to say something on this subject.

Let me begin to say I am 100% against doing away with trade sessions as I believe they add to the convention experience just like the seminars and tournaments.

I sympathize with the dealers arguments somewhat as they DO pay for tables at the show to sell chips and we don’t want to marginalize that. This is one of the reasons that years ago it was decided to only open the trading sessions at times that the show was not in session. So instead of competing with the dealers, this was just an additional event.

We have had a strict policy of NO SELLING CHIPS IN THE TRADE SESSIONS.
While that is the policy, there seems to be a whole lot of people who don’t abide by it.
I have seen open discussions of people talking about how to skirt the system by doing cash sales outside the room or even using live chips from the cage to buy traders with.

It’s those that continue to not abide by the rules that are causing this conflict in the first place.
I really don’t think anyone wants to limit trade sessions.

But it’s the people who continue to ignore the rules that cause the problem.

I would ask that anyone who loves to trade and enjoys these sessions, PLEASE respect the rules and be fair to others who play by them. Trade sessions are something for us all, including the dealers to enjoy.
If those that ignore them continue to do so, it will ruin these great events for everyone else who does.

Just my 2 cents.
