States still have power over Indian casinos...
In Response To: Impossible ()

States have the power to deny liquor licenses. I remember going up to the Turning Stone casino in upstate New York years ago. It is very close to the Boxing Hall of Fame. Sat at the bar and ordered a beer. Bartender said, “We don’t serve liquor here.” New York had blocked them. Eventually they made up.

The two Indian tribes here in CT were each fighting to open their own 2nd casino within the state. CT held the liquor license issue over their heads (among other issues) and the plans died.
