if you are going for casino chips, Stockmens and Red Lion are the only places to get them. The nice thing is that the Red Lion has a lot of $5 chips in circulation and easy to get 8-10 chips in one stop. There is also an antique store across from the Commercial and the couple there have a little of everything including about 50+ chips from all over the state. There is also a lot of old architecture, casinos and bars to check out.

If you want a great meal then you need to go to the Star Hotel. They serve traditional Basque meals family style so if it is just you then go with the steak (which is the best in town).

I was asking if Gold Dust West in Elko was still open? I just looked and it says the added a hotel in 2016, which for me is interesting. I was planning on taking Amtrak to Elko and wanted to stay near the casino. Craps, Blackjack and 3-card Poker are advertised on their website, which I assumed would mean chips.

One thing I've never had was a car in Elko and I want to drive around to see beyond the city. Also didn't know of the antique shop near Commercial, or they didn't have chips when I was there in the 80s and 90s. There's a fairly common postcard that shows the city from a hill, high above. I wanted to make that shot myself as I like the perspective.

In short, I believe there's one more place to get chips in Elko. Didn't want that left out.
