I think you are confusing this issue with something else.
Years ago (more than 8, probably about 12) there was a section in the back of the club mag where new releases were pictured. As far as I recall this was handled by Tyrus, and he just happened to be a BoD member at that time. There was a note on the contacts page that he dealt with that, ie to contact him rather than the magazine editor with queries.
That was not a function of the VP or any other BoD position and the note disappeared a long time ago.
