Re: at least yours has...
In Response To: Re: at least yours has... ()

Hi Brian,

Now...after reading this old thread, when we first found ours, I realized that the clock chip has a different mold than the chip listed in the book. (The hats and canes are different). So...the chip may not be $500-$599 even without the clock attached. sad Sorry about that...

When a chip is embedded in Lucite, or something similar, it usually bonds to the material that it's embedded in. It's highly unlikely that you'd be able to release the chip from the Lucite or Plexiglass or whatever it is. A few years ago we had a chipper who found someone to remove most of the material from around some very rare embedded chips. A couple of his posts are linked here...search archive #21 for further posts and images (search for posts by Terry Lazarus).

I truly have no idea on the value of the clock...nor any idea when or why they were made, or who they were given to. Others may have an idea, but some of the very knowledgeable chipboard posters won't "talk" to people who post here without using their real name. I've been posting here for close to 15 years and I think there's still a few people who are reluctant to "talk" to me, because I don't use my last name...so you might want to repost, using your real name. I don't know if it will help, but it can't hurt grin

If nothing else, maybe you'll get some offers to buy your clock...good luck! grin
