I was going off of TCR 13th Edition. And, yes, the lucite definitely "cancels" the chips. It appears to "melt" with the chip but it remains clear after all these years! I've had this one since approx. 1999.
Paperweights are nice but I still like the look and feel of a chip in my hand!!!
