Rich, very nice, and this may answer my question..
In Response To: $500 Frontier Hotel vbg ()

TCR actually lists that chip as "V4288.C" (cancelled) and further states that it is always found in Lucite. So, it would appear that TCR terms Lucite (or other, clear, resin-based, entombments as cancelled.

Below is an example of when the entombment process fails! sad

The base is slightly larger than the top, giving this paperweight a slightly beveled shape. Unfortunately, there are air bubbles over most of the hat and canes, the overall thickness of the puck is not uniform, i.e., the top surface has a slope and it is NOT from front to back when the chip is aligned and instead slopes downward from the 4 o'clock point to the 10 o'clock point. The top surface and beveled side is smooth, but the bottom is very rough and concaved, giving it a sharp edge, which chips easily, as evidenced by the several chips.

Lastly, the resin (probably not Lucite) is yellowed. It seems to be home made.
