the image uploading, just ask, but it sounds like you already have some insight! Imageshack, Picasa and others all have their pros and cons. As for using a camera for chips, they sure give good color reproduction (in the correct light), but unless you are using a tripod (in the document copy position) a camera tends to distort a chip's image because of the oblique angles.

While there are plenty of inexpensive, good quality scanners out there (under $100) if you do the scanner route just make sure the imaging device is described as CCD. If not, then color reproduction of flourescent-based colors will be off and in some colors, WAY off!
