NCR Borders closing

you could see it coming. Is Barnes & Noble next? Hard cover books gone? Another example of technology not working to our advantage. While a lot of people talk about the wonderful advantages of electronic books. They are causing ripples in the publishing industry that are not good. Remember when paperbacks were under $5? Now paperbacks are $15-$20. The cost of downloading books to kindle is no bargain either. A lot of books can cost up to $16. And the original cost of Kindle and ipad can be as much as you would pay for a new computer.

If I sound negative, I am. As a collector of hard bound books I have already seen fewer offerings of new releases in hard bound editions. Are books going the way of newspapers? It will be a sad day indeed when we have to rely on the internet for all our information and education. MHO TKS for allowing me to vent.
