I guess what it is David is that

years ago several high end dealer friends of mine had problems with buyers stating that items had not arrived and then funds were held up for very long periods of time until the problem was solved. The stories were all the same:The buyer signed for the item yet stated either that he/she did not receive them or that the item was not as described. Two dealers in particular who dealt in higher end(over $2,000)antique dolls really got nailed by sellers who returned the dolls. One of the returned dolls was shattered and my friend stated that she could tell that it was not the same doll that she had sent by the maker's marks on the back. The other one sent back a replacement doll as well and Paypal refused to listen to the sellers side. One other seller who I knew/know quite well sold a very rare metal "building bank/inkwell" valued at $1500. She also received the bank back by a buyer who said that it arrived broken. Now,this piece had been packed exceptionally well(I was there when she packed it)and it turned, that when it was returned that it also was not the same one. I know this because Diane(the seller) had gotten into the habit of placing special marks on many of her high end items which could only be seen with a black light. No marks...nothing. All 3 of these times the seller lost money because "the customer is always right"
And I have heard several other stories from dealers over the past few years about how they were treated.
Like I have said previously,if it works for you as a seller and buyer...that's great. For me...I have qualms about it, plus the fact that I just don't want it shoved down my throat if I do not want it.
As a customer of yours you know that I like to pay by well concealed cash, cheque or money order. Wrong or right,I think that I should....as a customer... be given other options.
Can you imagine going to a regular business establishment and the staff telling you that they will only accept Master Card..no Visa/no Amex/no debit/no cash/no cheques and that's it?
They would not last long.
SO...in conclusion rofl ....that is why I do not trust Paypal
